FDA Warning Issued for Select Alcohol Pads and Antiseptic Towelettes Due to Lack of Sterility Assurance

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is alerting healthcare professionals and patients not to use alcohol pads or benzalkonium chloride antiseptic towelettes manufactured by Foshan Flying Medical Products. The alert is due to the lack of sterility assurance and other quality issues.

Considering alcohol wipes are used to clean skin prior to skin testing and immunotherapy injections as well as for wiping bottles, the AAAAI wants to ensure members are aware of this FDA announcement.
