WAO World Allergy Week Taking Place April 7-13

Together with its 95 national Member Societies, the World Allergy Organization (WAO) is hosting World Allergy Week from April 7-13, 2014. This year’s event aims to address the topic of “Anaphylaxis – When Allergies Can Be Severe and Fatal,” and calls for education, preparation, and resources in the treatment and prevention of anaphylaxis.

The WAO World Allergy Week website contains resources that can be useful in activities and communications during this week, and it will be continuously updated. Below are a few suggestions for how AAAAI members can participate:

• Download the official World Allergy Week 2014 logo, add it to your website and link it to www.worldallergyweek.org.
• Translate and use the slides provided on the website in your communications and activities related to World Allergy Week. Please be sure to reference WAO as the source.
• List anaphylaxis patient advocacy organizations in your location and region for the general public to contact.
• Promote World Allergy Week 2014 through your Twitter and Facebook accounts. (Use hash tag #worldallergyweek)
• Contact radio and television stations in your area to tell them about World Allergy Week and set up interviews on anaphylaxis topics of local importance.
