Chrysalis Project Gives Medical Students, Residents Introduction to A/I

The AAAAI’s Chrysalis Project offers a way to attract future generations to choose allergy/immunology—by introducing medical students and residents to the science and careers within the specialty.

Taking place each year at the AAAAI Annual Meeting, the Chrysalis Project program spans three days and gives this young audience an inside look at the specialty. Individuals accepted into the Chrysalis Project program will attend the Annual Meeting for free. Travel, accommodations for three nights, and a $250 expense stipend to cover reasonable expenses for meals and ground transportation are also provided.

The didactic content of the Chrysalis Project program includes both pathogenesis and treatment of allergic and immunologic disorders and cutting-edge research. Additionally, A/I career options are presented including academic medicine, private practice and industry. Participants are also paired with fellow-in-training (FIT) mentors who can answer questions and guide them through Annual Meeting educational sessions and events.

Do you know someone who is interested in a future career in the specialty? Applications for the 2017 program are due October 28. The 2017 Chrysalis Project is limited to 50 participants. Accepted participants will be notified mid-December. Find eligibility details and the application here.
