Get Involved: AAAAI Interest Sections Seeking Nominations for Secretary Positions, Consider Joining an AAAAI Committee

All seven of the AAAAI’s interest sections are currently seeking nominations to be considered for the position of Secretary.

The requirements and duties of this position include:

• Primary membership in one of the seven interest sections.
• Previous leadership experience (chair, vice chair or member) within an AAAAI committee is preferred.
• Being a current Fellow of the AAAAI (FAAAAI) or in the process of applying for Fellow status. Emeritus and Honorary Fellows are not eligible to serve.
• All interest section leaders are expected to actively participate in the Annual Meeting programming development process (conference calls, attendance at the Annual Meeting Program Committee meeting held in June each year). Active participation in meetings and initiatives of the Interest Section Coordinating Committee is also a requirement as well as participation in the abstract review process.

In addition, the 2017-2018 committee appointment process is underway. Committee membership lets you explore areas of interest, network with other A/I colleagues in those areas, and pursue leadership opportunities. Visit aaaai.org/committees to learn more about the committee opportunities available to all AAAAI members.

If you’d like to get involved, the process is simple. All you need to do is email committees@aaaai.org with the committees you have an interest in joining. You can nominate colleagues as well.

Emails must be received by August 28 to be considered for the 2017-2018 committee term, which begins in March 2017. Nominations are reviewed by AAAAI President-Elect David B. Peden, MD, MS, FAAAAI, and presented to the Board of Directors at their November 2016 meeting. You will receive notification in December 2016 if your appointment has been approved.
