Volunteer Faculty: Register to Use the AAAAI’s Core Curriculum

As an initiative of AAAAI President Linda Cox, MD, FAAAAI, the AAAAI has launched a core curriculum that community-based allergists can use to offer a comprehensive allergy/immunology elective to medical students and residents.

The core curriculum focuses on six topic areas, each with a set of reading and multimedia materials to serve as the basis for the resident or medical student to review during the elective. Didactic education to meet the key objectives of the topics will be provided by AAAAI educational resources including the Virtual Annual Meeting and Board Review Course.

There are also sets of test questions, which can be conveniently used as used as pre- and post-tests to measure what was learned. The resident or medical student’s participation and completion of the program will be documented by the AAAAI’s online Continuing Education Center.

AAAAI members who have an appointment as a volunteer faculty member at a training program and are interested in using the core curriculum can register here.

In addition to the registration form, there are faculty training modules that will instill best practices for teaching and evaluating students and residents when they work through the curriculum. Depending on your prior teaching experience, you may be required to complete the training resources to gain approval as a faculty member and use the program.
