Read the FDA Ban Going into Effect on Latex Powdered Gloves
Thanks to the diligent work of the leaders and medical advisors of the American Latex Allergy Association and other organizations, the FDA is now banning powdered latex gloves. They have determined that “Powdered Surgeon's Gloves, Powdered Patient Examination Gloves, and Absorbable Powder for Lubricating a Surgeon's Glove present an unreasonable and substantial risk of illness or injury and that the risk cannot be corrected or eliminated by labeling or a change in labeling.” The rule will go into effect January 18.
