AAAAI QCDR to Connect with Allscripts and NextGen® Healthcare
Allscripts and NextGen® Healthcare will be connecting to the AAAAI Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Quality Clinical Data Registry (AAAAI QCDR). This means Allscripts and NextGen users will have the potential to electronically submit quality data and fulfill both Physician Quality Reporting System (PQRS) requirements and the Meaningful Use public health specialized registry reporting objective.
About Meaningful Use: Reporting to a Specialized Registry
On October 16, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published the Medicare and Medicaid Programs Electronic Health Record Incentive Program - Stage 3 and Modifications to Meaningful Use in 2015 through 2017 final rule. The rule restructured Stage 1 and Stage 2 measures and objectives to align with Stage 3. This included a consolidated public health reporting objective with the option of reporting to a specialized registry.
Although the AAAAI QCDR is a national registry for the main purpose of reporting for the PQRS program, as a specialized registry for allergy/immunology, it can also be used to fulfill the Meaningful Use public health specialized registry reporting objective. In order to meet this objective, a custom integration needs to be developed between the AAAAI QCDR and an electronic health record (EHR) vendor so that data can be electronically submitted on an ongoing basis.
If you are an Allscripts or NextGen Healthcare client interested in using the AAAAI QCDR, please reach out to your EHR representative to learn how you can register and begin electronically submitting your quality data.
About the AAAAI QCDR
In 2014, the AAAAI partnered with CECity, the healthcare industry’s leading registry-based service provider of performance improvement technologies, to offer AAAAI members a specialty-specific registry that could fulfill PQRS reporting needs. The AAAAI QCDR, in collaboration with CECity, can help your practice meet Meaningful Use requirements in addition to fulfilling PQRS requirements. Reach out to your EHR vendor and express your interest in connecting today.
